MEWP 3-piece (1a,3b,3a) Operator Certification (Virtual)

This virtual classroom training allows students to obtain the necessary knowledge and skills required to operate Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs) safely. This course includes manually propelled (1a), boom (3b) and scissor (3a) lifts. Upon successful completion of the virtual classroom theory and final written exam, students must successfully complete the in-person hands-on practical evaluation for each piece of equipment conducted by a qualified Sunbelt Rentals Certified Evaluator to receive operator certification.
Topics include:
- Responsibilities as a user and operator
- Conducting a pre-start inspection
- Conducting a workplace inspection
- Various types of equipment
- Safe operation
- Preventing accidents and identifying hazards in operation
Please complete your practical evaluation within 90 days from the completion of the virtual training.
Note: This is not recognized as fall protection or working at heights training. Required prerequisite course in Ontario is “Working at Heights”. Fall Protection is recommended in all other provinces.
