This online theory and hands-on practical evaluation training allows students to obtain the necessary knowledge and skills required to operate Class 1, 4, or 5 counterbalance forklifts safely. Upon successful completion of the online theory and final written exam, students must successfully complete the in-person hands-on practical evaluation conducted by a qualified Sunbelt Rentals Certified Evaluator to receive operator certification.
Topics include:
- Differentiate between handling a forklift and an average automobile (rear-wheel steering, weight)
- Identify the most common forklift accidents
- Describe steps for refueling
- Describe steps for recharging batteries
- Describe the center of gravity and stability triangle
- Describe load capacity and load center
- Describe forklift pre-operation inspections
- Identify safety guidelines and best practices for forklift operation
Please complete your practical evaluation within 90 days from the completion of the online course.
